5This is the best watch I've ever owned  Mar 31, 2006 By N. Greene
I shopped around quite a bit before I found this watch. I have owned several decent watches and this is my favorite. I like the quality of the stainless steel case. The watch feels very solid and well-made. I also really dig the rotating bezel. I actually use it a lot to time things, more than I ever used the stopwatch on a digital watch. The movement is Japanese and keeps excellent time. It looks great and the band is comfortable. The backlight works well, and I often don't even need it because the glow in the dark hands are very good and glow all night. I've actually had people comment on how much they like my watch. The face is clear and easy to read.

I actually bought the Freestyle Shark X Yellow watch first but I didn't like it. The backlight only worked on the digital window and the watch just didn't have the quality feel of the hammerhead. I returned the Shark X and bought the hammerhead.

Amazon seems to have the best price. I lucked out and got this watch new for $50 at a store called "Mardens" in Maine. Mardens buys out inventories of stores going out of business, etc. They had some very nice stuff..I had a hunch they were losses from stores affected by Huricate Katrina. If you've got $90 to spend on a watch, I think this is a good choice.

5Good looking and functional  Jun 27, 2008 By Zippity Doodah "Nick"
The stainless steel is brushed and has the look of a more costly watch. I've gotten quite a few compliments on my Freestyle and I wear it for everyday and out on the town. The band is comfortable and the holes in the band for the clasp are within 1/4" of each other and span about 3" making a custom fit possible unless you're the Hulk or Twiggy. "Hammerhead" is imprinted on the bezel with "660 FT" at 12 & 6 O'clock.
I actually dive with my watch but never deeper than 50 ft (15M). The face and bezel are easy to see under water without touching any buttons on the watch (a submerged no-no).
I like my watch and would buy another one but with a limited lifetime warranty, I shouldn't ever have to.

5Stylish and Durable  Aug 07, 2009 By Sam Mom "Sarah F"
I have owned this watch now for 8 years and still appreciate its style and functionality. I have dived with mine on numerous occasions down to approximately 100' with no water intrusion or condensation forming. I am now on my 3rd battery and second band and do not foresee replacing this watch anytime soon. (Note: This watch originally came with a neoprene band when it was purchased 8 years ago. The band was comfortable but tended to start to smell after extended wear, especially if worn running or other similar activities, requiring a bath with wetsuit soap.) One comment is that you should not attempt to replace the battery on any dive watch yourself. It is worth the extra money to have it replaced by someone that is capable of testing the watch to ensure a waterproof seal to avoid damaging the internals.

5Hits The Nail Right On The Hammerhead  Jul 26, 2011 By Brien F. OBrien "BOB"
I received my Freestyle Hammerhead 660 FT Mens Diver Watch today, 07/25/2011. The box it comes in is real basic (a la Timex), not quite up to snuff for this watch. The watch looks even better than in the Amazon pictures. The polished nickel (chromed?) 12-3-6-9 hour dial markers look great. The red second hand is cool and I like that it has the glow-in-the-dark dot near the end of it, nice touch. The illuminator button lights up the watch face in low light conditions without being 'Harsh', again, nice touch. The brushed stainless bezel looks good, especially in contrast to the polished nickel (chromed?) sides of the watch. The bezel rotates nicely, click to click to click. The back of the watch is also polished nickel (chromed?), and the laser markings are very crisp, clear and easy to read. The watch band, much to my chagrin, IS s-h-o-r-t, what, did Freestyle get a great deal on a boatload of childrens diver watch bands or what??? Fortunately for me, the band fits me on the second to last hole and neatly tucks in to the strap holder, Win! You WWE wrestlers and lumberjacks out there are gonna need a new band, to be sure. The watch feels good on my wrist, I'm definately happy with this purchase, especially for $50.00 AND Free Super Saver Shipping, Win! I was wearing a Seiko 7T92-0DX0 as my daily watch, the Hammerhead will replace it, as the Hammerhead's soft watch band is comfortable in a 'different way' vs the (comfortable) stainless steel watch band of the Seiko. Lastly, the screwdown crown is nice, and, oh yah, the red divers flag at six o'clock on the watch face IS cool. In my opinion, Freestyle has a great watch at a very fair price with the Hammerhead 660 FT. I will be buying a Hammerhead 660 FT or two as gifts, er, once I make sure of the recipients wrist size. Bottom line? The Hammerhead 660 FT divers watch is a 'Win!'.

3Good watch for the price  Sep 12, 2009 By A. Sheward "independent/remodeler"
I am a carpenter a need a shock proof watch that's also water proof, Ive had a only one watch that lasted more then a year in the last 8 and they don't make that model any more
So far I like the watch but its a little too early to really know how good it is. The band is a little uncomfortable at first but the sharp edge's at the buckle wear down after a couple of weeks. The light is very dim so you can't really see the face at night.
