This item is basically two straps and two thick screws (and instructions). That's it... but it does the job. I have an 8'2 board (about 22" wide) and it works just fine. You will need to find the studs in your wall to ensure a good hold. Recommended if you are tight on garage space.

Freed up floor space in my closet. Jul 26, 2011

My ugly surfboard (longboard) consumes too much floor space in my apartment's closet (which has a vaulted ceiling because it is under my neighbors staircase). I used the straps to hang my board on the wall unconventionally, not as directed. I slipped the lower strap between the fins and with a little modification of the higher strap using GORILLA brand double-sided tape and an electrical clamp, the nose strap holds perfectly. I found its hold to be very sturdy even when bumped, pulled on, and having an unbracketed bookshelf fall into it.
NOTE: My apartment has very weak walls so I didn't use the screws that came with the product. Gorilla double-sided tape and thicker screws did the trick.

I purchased two just to try them out. They work great, perfect for shortboards. Simple to install. The price is reasonable as well. Will be purchasing more in the future.

I installed the straps to the ceiling in the garage, I found secure studs and used the screws provided. When I tried to load my surboard into the first strap the eyelet failed and the strap immediately pulled out from the ceiling, leaving the screw and eyelet attached to the ceiling. I then tried the second strap, I pulled on it to check if it was secured, this strap also pulled out from the eyelet. Very poor designed item if using for a ceiling mount. May work on the wall due to less stress on the eyelets. "You get what you pay for"
