Keeps me warm in the winter and fits great feels like your in a bubble when your wearing them. Runs pretty true to size.

Needed a new pair of booties as winter is approaching and water temps drop. I've always had O'neil's as I like the flexibility of the sole. These have won several design awards apparently and I know cold-water surfers that swear by them. I have only slightly wide feet and these feel really snug. Hopefully they stretch out a little. Definitely tighter than my old booties, so if you have narrow feet I would highly recommend them. I've worn them once and they super warm. Water wasn't that cold though and surf was small so I'm not sure how the Drylock system works. The sole is pretty thick so I know they will not rip or anything over sharp rocks, barnacles, etc... Waiting to see how they hold up in really cold water and big surf to see if they get flooded.

These booties are my favorites of all time. I have used Rip Curl, Oneill, Billabong, and Quiksilver. These ones have my definate vote though. Super warm and cushiony but at the same time you can really feel your board as well.

I've only used these boots a few times so far in sub 65 degress temps and my feet stayed warm during 3 hour sessions. Very comfortable and easy to put on. A bit more challenging to take them off but I guess that is normal for anything like this. Excellent quality product.
 Good boot - Split toe doesnt make sense Nov 02, 2012

This is more of a warning then a true complaint about the product. The product is really good quality, exactly as I would expect from Xcel, maybe even higher with the quality of the sole. I love my drylock suit, and lobster claw gloves. I surf in Maine through the winter and these barely cut it in the spring or fall though, in cases that a non split toe 5mm would. The separation is still webbed, so if your looking for extra flexibility (like i was), this isn't it. Because of this separation, your big toe gets cold much easier.
Split toe concept is pointless. Xcel Drylock series is amazing.
